Bookmas Wrap-Up

Hi, everybody!

I know I said I would post this on Friday but because of Christmas I was pretty busy and tired. But I’m giving it to you today!

Here are all my Bookmas posts:

So what did I actually read during Bookmas?

Well, I have to say that I didn’t read a lot. On the first day of Bookmas I was still busy studying my Dutch exam the next day. In the evening I did start Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs. On the second and third day of Bookmas I read some more in Library of Souls but still didn’t finish it.

It was on the fourth day of Bookmas that I finished Library of Souls. Late in the evening I started Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling. It wasn’t untill day 8 of Bookmas that I finished that one.

On the nineth day of Bookmas I started Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling and I actually just finished that one today…

The big reason why I barely read anything is because on day 9 and 10 I was very lazy. Then, on day 11 and 12 I had a sleepover and unfortunatly, it is inapropriate to read during a sleepover… :p

So, I read something like 2.5 books but they were all pretty big and I’m still quite happy with that.

That was my Bookmas journey! I want to thank Hailey aka  HailsHeartsNYC  over at YouTube for creating the topics and I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas! The following week I will post some book reviews, cause I did miss sharing those with you.

Bookmas Day 12

Hi, everybody!

It’s the last day of Bookmas created by Hailey aka HailsHeartsNYC over at YouTube. If you don’t know what Bookmas is click here to see her Announcement Video.

If you missed my previous posts:

Today’s topic is…

On the twelfth day of bookmas my true love gave to me twelve great booktubers.

Of course we had to end with an amazing topic.

First of I’m going to start by my three favourites (all the others are not in any particular order), they’re probably also the most popular. Jesse aka JesseTheReader, Christine aka PolandbananasBOOKS and Katy aka Katytastic. I think Jesse was the first Booktuber I discovered and of course I discovered Christine and Katy soon after that since they have a bookclub together. There all seriously fabulous people and they always put a smile on my face. Especially Christine, she’s so funny and enthousiastic and where does she get all her energie?

Then there’s Hailey aka HailsHeartsNYC who created this Bookmas.

Number five is Zoe aka ReadByZoe.

The sixth Booktuber is Riley (Riley Marie)

Sasha aka Abooktopia is the seventh.

Then we have Regan aka PeruseProject

Number 9 is Jacqueline aka Jbooklover

As tenth there’s Padfootandprongs07

Second to last, Caz aka LittleBookOwl

And lastly but not least Ariel aka ArielBissett

I did go rather quickly over all these and that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve all the recognition but I just don’t have that much time and I would only repeat myself by saying how much I love them all.

As I said yesterday I’m pre-writing this because I don’t have time to write on Thursday but I will update you all on what I read during Bookmas on Friday. 🙂

So, I hope you enjoyed and I will see you tomorrow! 🙂

Today’s topic is…

On the eleventh day of bookmas my true love gave to me eleven villains villaining.

So, I actually only found nine villains… Sorry about that, but, still, enjoy!

The first two are from the same series. In the Harry Potter series you, obviously, have Voldemort but we all hate Umbridge even more than him right? Voldemort is only evil – the fact that he can’t love is also very important – but Umbridge! Ugh, I hate that woman. How can you even be so awful? I’m still wondering why J.K. Rowling didn’t kill her. She should’ve given her a long and painfull death.

The third villain is also pretty obvious. President Snow from The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins is just bad through and through. He’s a dictator, kills childeren and does everything to not lose his power.

Janine from the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth is another one. I know that she has her own ideals and she thinks that what she does is right but she’s so wrong. Her methodes are just cruel and she does seem like a dictator.

(The following two are spoilers from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare)

First, there’s Valentine. He wants to take over the world and doesn’t even care how many people would die. Also, he messed with demonblood whereby his son just evil is? What person does something like? He destroyed his son’s life and ruined the life of his wife.

Then we have Sebastian himself. Deep down – and that’s very deep down – he is good. But of course his father had to make sure that he had demonblood inside him which made him so evil that he even didn’t have a problem with incest. It’s not the most important thing about him but it just disgusts me.

Villain number seven is Caul from the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children trilogy by Ransom Riggs. He wants to take over the world by using dreadfull methods. He takes the souls of Peculiars so he can be the most powerfull in the world. He really doesn’t give a f how manny children he kills.

The eighth villain is Amarantha from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. She would do everything to get what she wants and isn’t affraid to let other people suffer incredibly for her own enjoyment.

Now, we’ve come to the last one. ATTENTION This is a spoiler for the first book in The Raven Cycle by Magie Stiefvater.

Whelk – just like all the other villains, I realise just now XD – doesn’t care how many people he kills to reach his goal. Even though he even has to kill his own best friend. (Couldn’t find a proper picture of Whelk)

What did I read?

When the post of yesterday was posted I read some more but really not that much. Today someone is coming for a sleepover so I won’t be able to read much then either… That also why I’m going to pre-write my Bookmas Day 12 post.

That’s it! By making this post I just realized that villains just like to kill and don’t care… How could I not see sooner? XD Anyway, I will see you tomorrow!

Today’s topic is…

On the tenth day of bookmas my true love gave to me ten fictional crushes.

Oooh! Are you ready for this??? 😉

First, I have to start with my first fictional crush ever which is Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games trilogy obviously. I love him so, so much! He’s sweet helpfull, knows what to say and just *-* AND LOOK AT THAT SMILE OMG I CANT QTFUODTIOTDYIUG

Second, there’s Percy Jackson. I didn’t read this series, like many others, growing up, I only read them this summer but man did I love Percy. He’s so sassy and when he’s fighting my heart just melts.

My third crush is Jace Herondale (or whatever you want to call him :p ) from The Mortal Instruments series. He’s hilarious with his comments and he’s (like Clary really likes to describe) so elegant in his movements and come on, when I read that I just can’t.

The fourth one is Tobias Eaton aka Four from the Divergent trilogy. He’s not one of my top crushes but I do really love how he cares so much about Tris.

My fifth fictional crush is Newt from The Maze Runner trilogy. Ugh, he’s so sweet and understands others. He’s always ready to help his friends and I actually love when we finally can look inside him more.

Then, there’s Jacob Portman from the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children trilogy. He also is very sweet. The thing I really love about him is that he maybe isn’t as strong as other protagonists and he really needs the help of others and isn’t affraid to ask.

My next two crushes are from the same book and I can’t really choose between them. Tamlin and Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas are both very different. Tamlin looks like the sun and has a kind heart while Rhysand is dark and is everything but flawless. This is also a big reason why I can’t wait till the sequel.

The last two are from contemporary books and are both such kind boys. The first one is Josh from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han (I couldn’t find a proper photo of him). He’s a Harry Potter fan and sweet so what else do you need, right? Then there’s Levi from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, I don’t really know how to describe him, I think he’s just everything I want in a boy? I don’t know, I just really love him.

What did I read?

Just like yesterday I’ve barely read anything. But it’s still early so I really, really hope to read more this evening.

That’s it! Who are your fictional crushes? Tell me in the comments below and I will see you tomorrow!

Today’s topic is…

On the ninth day of bookmas my true love gave to me nine kickass ladies.

I think this will be a very interesting topic to talk about. 😀

My first kickass female character has to be one from the Harry Potter series. But I’m not going to pick Hermione. Don’t get me wrong, I think she is very badass and stuff  but I think Ginny Weasley is slightly more kickass. She grew up with six (if I didn’t miscount) older brothers, is very popular, dares to do things, is a true member of DA and we can’t forget all the things she did in the seventh book with Neville and other students to fight the Carrows. When Harry told her at the end of book six they shouldn’t see each other anymore, Ginny doesn’t cry or make a drama of it. She respects and understands Harry’s choice.

My second and third picks are from The Hunger Games trilogy. First, there’s Katniss Everdeen. Although she is quite concervative in the beginning, she does grows to be a real leader of a rebelion. She didn’t always know what she was doing, she was very insecure about her actions but she did make a huge difference.

Then, there’s her sister Prim. A little, scared girl in the beginning but then grows to be strong, independent and a great support for Katniss. Even at such a young age she wants to help and do something usefull.

The fourth one is also a pretty obvious one. Tris Prior from the Divergent trilogy is one of the bravest characters I’ve ever read about. Yes, she’s also very reckless but she did so much for the people. She did what she thought was right and nobody could change her mind about those things.

The fifth kickass lady I chose is Isabelle Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments series. I love her so, so much! She is so confident and if she has her whip no one is safe. At the end of the series she does dare to let someone look inside her and we discover that she isn’t as flawless as she seems to be and that makes me love her even more.

Annabeth Chase from the Percy Jackson series is my sixth pick. I haven’t read the stand-off series but I certainly will. Already from a young age she is very confident (the fact that she is the daughter of a godess has something to do with that, of course) and she’s also so badass. She gives sassy remarks and wants to be independent from everybody else. After a while she does realize you do need people around you who will always be there for you and that’s what makes her maybe a little more vulnerable but a lot more likable.

My seventh one really intrigued me. Emma Bloom from the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children trilogy cares a lot about her friends and doesn’t think about anything else untill they are safe. Because of all these years she has lived she has a certain wisdom and knows a lot more about others than most people do. She acts quickly but never without thinking about it. I really love that actually she is the strong one in the relationship she has with Jacob.

Number eight is Feyre from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. She is a skilled huntress and even though in the middle of the book she is a little bit helpless and lost, she really is very brave. She’s a skilled heroine with brains and man! I can’t wait till A Court of Mist and Fury!

And then finally the last one: Blue Sargent from The Raven  Cycle by Magie Stiefvater. She has this prediction hanging above her head but she does dare to start relationships with persons. Some might say it’s dumb but I think it’s brave.

What did I read?

Yesterday, after I posted Bookmas Day 8, I read one chapter in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Today, though, I had such a lazy day! I barely did anything beside watching tv and wasting my time on the Internet. I did read some pages but that’s all. It’s still pretty early now so I hope to read some more.

That’s it for today! Tell me which characters you find kickass ladies in the comments below and I will see you tomorrow! 🙂

Bookmas Day 8

Hi, everybody!

It’s day 8 of Bookmas created by Hailey aka HailsHeartsNYC over at YouTube. If you don’t know what Bookmas is click here to see her Announcement Video.

Today’s topic is…

On the eighth day of bookmas my true love gave to me eight fantastic classics.

I actually only read two classics in my life: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. And I only liked one of them.

I read To Kill A Mockingbird in September, I think, and it really grabbed me. The book is about injustice towards the black people and about a lot more. The whole story is told from an innocent child’s POV which makes it so, so good. Here is my full review: Book Review: To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

What did I read?

Today I spent the whole day reading and I finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. After that I did some other stuff and watched a movie with my brother and mom. I’m very tired now actually so I don’t know if I will start reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows but we’ll see.

That’s it, people! Sorry for only mentioning one classic instead of eight but I promise I will read more in the futur (hopefully) :p

Bookmas Day 7

Hi, everybody!

It is day 7 of Bookmas created by Hailey aka HailsHeartsNYC over at YouTube. If you want to know more about Bookmas you can click here to watch Hailey’s announcement video.

If you missed my previous posts:

Today’s topic is…

On the seventh day of bookmas my true love gave to me seven fantasy worlds.

I’m first going to start with very populair ones.

So, of course, the first one it the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Like come on who doesn’t want to live there? A lot of us grew up with the books and/or movies and as long as I remember Hogwarts was always there and there hasn’t gone a day by when I didn’t wish to go there.

The world of the Greek Gods from the Percy Jackson books is another world which I find amazing. There’s a lot of adventure, weird and mostly dangerous creatures and God drama. Who doesn’t like that? 😉

My third pick is the Shadow World from Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter books. I’ve only read The Mortal Instruments series and the world is so good put together. The demons, angels, … There’s a lot going on and how cool would it be to be a badass Shadowhunter like Izz? *-*

The fourth fantasy world I really like is the one from Ransom Riggs’ Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. If you’re Peculiar you have an amazing gift, you can be a child forever and you will have a friendship with the other Peculiars that’s undestroyable. Okay, there are these terrible monsters and people who want your soul but you have’ll have to live with that, right?

World number five is a very exciting world in my opinion. In The Weaver’s Riddle by C. M. Lucas you have this very mysterious world you don’t know a lot about but it is amazing. The first book came out a couple of months ago and it was an incredible read. Because there’s only a first book just yet we don’t know a lot about the world but I can’t wait to discover more! If you want to read my review click here.

The second to last fantasy world I choose is the one from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. On one side of the wall you have the mortals (not sure they were called that :p ) and on the other side you have different kind of Courts with Fearies. It’s a very interesting world and I can’t wait till the second book in May!

Finally, my last world is the one from The Raven Cycle by Magie Stiefvater. I’ve only read the first book – I’m going to continue soon- and the world with the ley lines and predictions intrigued my a lot.

What did I read?

I just realized that I forgot to tell you this for the past two days… Sorry!

As I told you I started Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and I’m now halfway through. Yesterday I had little time to read. First I had to go to school, then go eat pasta with a friend and wait till I got to go to the orthodontist to get my braces off (which was very exciting! 😀 ) After that I had to wait some more because I had to go to school again with my mom to get my report card. I’m quite happy with my grades. :p Then I had to go to dance lesson and Star Wars Episode VI was on tv so I really didn’t read a lot.

Anyway, today I had a lot more time to read so I did and I’m going to continue the moment this post is up.

That’s it for today! See you tomorrow!
