Hi, everybody! I’m back with a new bookreview!
Title: A Court of Thorns and Roses
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Release date: May the 5th 2015
Genre: Fantasy, retelling, romance, YA
When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.
As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.
WOW! This book!
Okay. The characters: The main character, Feyre, is one of the most real character in a fantasy book I’ve ever read about. She’s badass and she isn’t afraid to object or give a rude answer. Still, she can be shy and “small”. She goes through a lot throughout this book and she becomes so much stronger. I’m really proud of her. (Do you know that feeling? :p )Definetly my favourite character of this book.
Tamlin is more mysterious. But what do you expect from someone who’s more than 500 years old. First he doesn’t really know how to handle Feyre but once he does… *smirk*
Lucien is a sarcastic and honest character. In the beginning he has some issues with Feyre but he cares about Tamlin and after a while he gets attached to Feyre, too.
You know that feeling when there is this “bad” character but you seem to like him? I never expierenced that before but now I did with Rhysand. He’s such a prick but I always thought there was more about this character than we knew. I’m curious what will happen with this character in the next books.
This was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast but so upgraded. The story was gorgeous written and I would like to know more about this world. This book was a great introduction to the world and I would love to see more of it in the next two books.
It was the first book I read of Sarah J. Maas and I really need more of her ‘cause her writingstyle is so, so good.
Can’t wait till the sequel.
Did anyone of you read this book? What did you think of it? Comment below or give your link to your review if you have one. I would love to read it!
