A mysterious house harbors an unimaginable secret. . . .
It’s wartime, and the Carver family decides to leave the capital where they live and move to a small coastal village where they’ve recently bought a home. But from the minute they cross the threshold, strange things begin to happen. In that mysterious house there still lurks the spirit of Jacob, the previous owners’ son, who died by drowning.
With the help of their new friend Roland, Max and Alicia Carver begin to explore the suspicious circumstances of that death and discover the existence of a mysterious being called The Prince of Mist—a diabolical character who has returned from the shadows to collect on a debt from the past. Soon the three friends find themselves caught up in an adventure of sunken ships and an enchanted stone garden, which will change their lives forever.
|I had never heard of this book before but I was curious to start it. The cover looked mysterious and the title sounded interesting.
Max is a clever and very curious boy who cares a lot about people. I felt like he cared the most about his older sister, Alicia.
Alicia was a lot more mysterious character. She was difficult to penetrate and looked sad and was introvert. When she meets Roland she totally cheers up but at the end of the book I didn’t had the feeling I knew her. Neither did Max, I think. Although their relationship had grown after what they had been through together.
I saw Roland like a confident character but he actually was quite shy. He was brave and enjoyed living.
This was a very mysterious book with even some scary pieces. There was so much to discover whereby you couldn’t put this book down. We didn’t get to know a lot about the relationship between Alicia and Roland but in the end this relationship was very important. It was an different genre that I normally read but I totally loved it.
An amazing, heartbreaking, mysterious book.
